1989 ರಲ್ಲಿ 20 ಶಾಸಕರಿಂದ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ಕೊಡಿಸಿ ಎಸ್.ಆರ್. ಬೊಮ್ಮಯಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ದೇವೇಗೌಡರು ಉರುಳಿಸಿದ್ರು. ಆಗ ದೇವೇಗೌಡರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವದ ಕಗ್ಗೊಲೆ ಆಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇವತ್ತು ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವದ ಕಗ್ಗೊಲೆ ಅಂತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಮಾಜಿ ಶಾಸಕ ಕೆಎನ್ ರಾಜಣ್ಣ ಕಿಡಿಕಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ತುಮಕೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು ಮೈತ್ರಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ನಾವು ನೆಲ ಕಚ್ಚಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಅಂತಹದರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಕುಮಾರಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಮರ್ಥಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ನಮ್ಮವರಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯವರಿಗೆ ಬೈದರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಮರು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಗೆ ವೋಟ್ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್-ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ಜಗಳ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಗೆ ಬೈಯಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಮತದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಯಗಳಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದರು.

ಈ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನ ಒಂದಿಬ್ಬರು ಶಾಸಕರು ಮಾತ್ರ ದೇವೇಗೌಡರ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕು. ಸರಕಾರ ಉಳಿಬಾರದು. ಸರಕಾರ ಉರುಳಬೇಕು ಅನ್ನೋದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ರಾಜಣ್ಣ, ಕೆಲವು ದೋಸ್ತಿ ಶಾಸಕರು ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಅವರು ಅಲರ್ಟ್‌ ಆಗ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೊಸ ಬಾಂಬ್ ಸಿಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
